Train fire: A massive fire erupted in three coaches of the New Delhi-Darbhanga Express train (02570) near Uttar Pradesh's Etawah. The fire erupted when the train was going towards Sarai Bhupat railway station. Several fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.

The incident was reported when the Darbhanga Special 02570 train was passing through Sarai Bhupat station. The station master immediately stopped the train after seeing some smoke coming out from S1 coach.

All the passengers were evacuated safely from the affected coach. Some passengers received minor injuries. The train is scheduled to continue its journey in a short while.

"Fire broke out in three coaches of New Delhi-Darbhanga Clone Express in Etawah. Primarily, it seems that fire broke out due to a short circuit. A few people sustained minor injuries but there have not been any casualties. Efforts are underway regarding resuming the journey of the train," said SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma.

"We somehow got out from the window of the coach when the fire broke out there. There were no proper means to extinguish the fire in the coach. Few people were injured while getting out of the coach," said a passenger who was onboard New Delhi-Darbhanga Express.

Another passenger said, "I was going to Chhapra. All of a sudden some smoke rose. It felt as if I'd die. There was too much crowd. I jumped out of the window and my luggage caught fire... There were too many people."

Later, Etawah DM Avnish Rai visited the district hospital to meet the injured.

After the fire was doused, the train departed towards its destination at 8:18 pm.
