According to an analysis of Google trends, people in Pakistan searched for the Indian Air Force more than the Pakistan Air Force on Tuesday. The analysis came after India carried out airstrikes at camps of terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in Balakot inside Pakistan. The patterns of the graphs of five search terms that were popular on Tuesday - Indian Air force, Pakistan Air Force, Balakot, surgical strike and LoC were compared, which showed that the graph of Google searches for Indian Air Force remained above than the graph for its Pakistani counterpart, for much part of the day in Pakistan.

Moreover, the term 'surgical strike' remained the most popular term in India, suggested the search graphs of these terms for India and Pakistan, while the term 'Balakot' was the most searched term in Pakistan.

Early on Tuesday, jets of the Indian Air Force crossed the LoC and entered Pakistan's territory, where they dropped bombs on terror camps.

The news was broken by Pakistan at 5:12 am after its spokesperson of armed forces Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor tweeted that Indian Air Force has "violated" the LoC.

In another tweet, Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that the Indian Air Force jets dropped payloads and returned.

Pakistan, however, claimed that the IAF jets did not succeed in their operation and returned after being tracked by Pakistan.

By this time, the search trends for the airstrike took pace and topped Google trends. Meanwhile, search trends for the term 'Balakot' started gaining traction in Pakistan.

Search frequency for Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Army was lower than that for Indian Air Force, which was evident by a comparison of terms like 'Pakistan Army', 'Pakistan Air Force', 'Indian Air Force' and 'Indian Army'.
