    Delhi HC to hear pleas seeking recognition of same-sex marriages on April 24

    The Delhi High Court said on Tuesday it will hear on April 24 a batch of petitions to recognise same-sex marriage under various laws. A bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad was informed by the parties that a similar issue is pending before the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Saurabh Kirpal, who appeared for one of the petitioners, urged the bench to give a date in the matter as a similar issue was coming up for hearing before the top court on January 6.

    World Bank revises upwards India's GDP growth forecast to 6.9% for FY23

    The World Bank on Tuesday revised upwards its GDP growth forecast for India to 6.9 per cent for 2022-23, saying the economy was showing higher resilience to global shocks. In October, it had cut India's GDP growth forecast to 6.5 per cent from 7.5 per cent earlier. Now, it has upgraded the projection to 6.9 per cent for 2022-23 (April 2022 -March 2023).

    Girl killed, another badly injured in Germany knife attack

    German police said a 14-year-old girl died and a 13-year-old girl was seriously injured after they were attacked by a man with a knife on their way to school Monday.
