Swati Maliwal assault case: A fresh CCTV footage of May 13 showing Aam Aadmi Party MP Swati Maliwal being escorted out of the Chief Minister’s residence in Delhi surfaced on Saturday, a day after the AAP released the video of the drawing room where the alleged assault on the MP took place by Arvind Kejriwal’s Personal Assistant Bibhav Kumar.

The Maliwal assault case has picked pace and the investigation into the assault allegation by the MP against Kejriwal’s PA has also begun. In the process, a new CCTV footage has come out in which Maliwal could be seen being taken out of the CM House.

What’s there in the CCTV footage?

In the first part of the latest video that has surfaced, Maliwal is seen being escorted out of the CM residence by the security personnel, holding her hand. Once out of the house, she was seen complaining to police personnel. In the second part of the video dated May 17, a visible 'injured' Maliwal is seen going to the Delhi court where she is seen walking very cautiously with the help of another woman. This is when the AAP leader had come to the court to record her statement in front of the magistrate in connection with the assault case.

Delhi Police seals CCTV footage at Kejriwal's residence

According to Delhi Police sources, when Swati Maliwal recreated (what happened with her on May 13) at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's residence yesterday with FSL team, DVR recordings of CCTV footage of many places inside CM's residence were sealed. "It will also be investigated whether there was any tampering with the footage," sources said.

On Friday, the Delhi Police had visited Kejriwal's residence to collect the CCTV footage. Delhi Police and FSL have taken dump of some CCTV cameras from CM residence. Delhi Police has taken the dump of CCTV cameras installed at the entry and exit points in a pen drive. Delhi Police team will come again today for investigation, sources said.

The police registered a case against Bibhav Kumar, Arvind Kejriwal's PA, who was accused of assaulting Maliwal at the CM residence on May 13 when she reached to meet the AAP chief. Kumar, in turn, also lodged a complaint against Maliwal alleging abuse against him. The Delhi Police has constituted teams to trace him.
