New Delhi: The government today said that Islamic State is active in cyber space and social media and the sympathisers to the terrorist group have posted messages in Social media in 5 Languages.
In a written reply to Rajya Sabha, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that ISIS elements have posted messages Hindi, English, Urdu Tamil and Gujarati on social media, as per the inputs provided by the Intelligence Bureau.
Government of India has issued advisory to all states and Union Territories to take suitable measures in and around foreign missions tourist spots and community facilities frequented by foreigners, MHA informed upper house of the Parliament.
Ministry of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Chaudhary said that the ministry has advised States and UTs to review intelligence inputs about ISIS activity and to identify vulnerable places which could be targeted by terrorist organisations and to take appropriate action to neutralise potential threat if any.
