Panaji: A man from Hyderabad has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in the city, police said today.  

The accused identified as Mamillapalli Santoshkumar, now working in Goa, was arrested on Thursday for the incident of rape which had taken place around six months back here, police said.

The complaint lodged by the victim at Panaji police station on Wednesday states that she is six months pregnant.  

The accused worked as a supervisor for the company where the victim was also employed. She said the accused called her inside the lift under the pretext of collecting garbage and raped her there.

The woman told the police that she had been raped by him on two occasions.
