New Delhi:  In yet another incident of sexual harassment, a patient admitted in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna has reported that she was sexually harassed by one of the doctors of the institute.

The girl, in her late teens, has complained to the authorities that a doctor behave badly while medically examining her. Though a police case has not been lodged, the matter has been sent to the anti-sexual harassment committee of the institute.

The episode had reportedly taken place on December 20 when she went to the surgery OPD. In her complaint, she said that during the course of physical examination, the senior faculty member molested and misbehaved with her. The doctor, she said, tried to push her when she raised an alarm.

According to the norm of medical ethics it is utmost necessary that   that a female attendant should be present when a male doctor examines a female patient.

The girl was undergoing treatment in out-patient department (OPD) of obstetrics and gynaecology for excessive bleeding. The administration of AIIMS- Patna has reportedly did not comment on the above incident
