The government on Thursday opened online nominations and recommendations for Padma Awards 2022. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year. The last date for nominations for Padma Awards is September 15, 2021.
As many as six personalities from Odisha will receive Padma awards for their notable contributions towards the welfare of society.
Besides Mouma, P Anitha, Madhavan Nambiar, Sudha Hari Narayan Singh, Virender Singh, and KY Venkatesh have also been awarded the prestigious award in the sports category for the year.
The government on Friday announced to keep nominations for Padma Awards 2021, the highest civilian awards of the country, open till September 15 this year.
Among the Padma Vibhushan awardees are prominent names like former union ministers Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and George Fernandes.
