IMD issues yellow alert for Mumbai as rains and heavy winds starts in city
India Meteorological Department (IMD) Monday issued a yellow alert for the rain-battered Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg till Wednesday.
As Maharashtra is facing rain fury, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will visit one of the worst flood-affected regions Ratnagiri district on Sunday. Leader of Opposition (LoP) Devendra Fadnavis, Union Ministers Narayan Rane, Ramdas Athawale will also review the situation in Raigad, Ratnagiri tomorrow as the state deals with its worst flood situation that has killed over 140 people and displaced thousands.
The fatality count in rain-related incidents in Raigad district of Maharashtra reached 47 on Saturday, including 37 in the landslide at Taliye village, the state disaster management department said.

The Maharashtra government on Friday announced an ex-gratia of Rs five lakh each to the kin of people who have died in landslides triggered by heavy rains in different parts of the state. A statement from the Chief Minister's Office here said, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who announced the financial assistance, also expressed grief over the loss of lives.
