Rajasthan Royals win by 7 wickets

A thumping win for Rajasthan and they have kept themselves in the hunt with back-to-back wins. It can be termed as one of their better performances this season. Their bowling was right on the money after a poor start with everyone contributing equally. Chasing a target of 161, usually you need one good partnership and their new opening pair provided that. Rahane and Livingstone put together a 78-run stand and that nearly put the chase to bed. Agreed, there were a few stutters in between but Rajasthan never got under any kind of pressure. A word of praise for Sanju Samson also, who batted through and stayed unbeaten.

23.32 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Sanju Samson, FOUR! Rajasthan win by 7 wickets and stay alive in the tournament! Shakib gets to bowl the final over and he delivers a short ball first up. Samson goes back and pulls it powerfully down to deep mid-wicket for the winning runs.

23.27 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Ashton Turner, In the air but safe. Back of a length ball outside off, Turner looks to pull but his bottom hand comes off the bat. It falls in no man's land and they get a single.

23.25 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Sanju Samson, Good length ball on middle, Sanju flicks it uppishly wide of long on and gets a couple.

23.20 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Ashton Turner, STOP THE PRESS! Turner is off the mark. Smiles all around. His teammates in the dugout are clapping. Haha! These little moments make cricket really entertaining. Full in length on middle, Turner flicks it behind square leg for a run.

23.18 IST: Khaleel Ahmed to Steven Smith, OUT! Smith departs and the crowd goes silent! Khaleel digs in a short ball on middle and off, Smith shuffles across the stumps to pull it across the line but it takes the top edge and flies down to fine leg. Kaul moves across to his left from fine leg and just about manages to hang on to the catch. Steven Smith is disappointed with himself as he returns to the pavilion. 14 needed off 20 balls.

23.15 IST: Khaleel Ahmed to Steven Smith, FOUR! A length delivery on middle, Smith shuffles across and deflects it fine down the leg side. Kaul makes a sliding stop near the fence and they take two. The umpire then goes upstairs to check and the replays find that Kaul made contact with the rope while getting rid of the ball. 50-run stand comes up!

23.10 IST: Khaleel Ahmed to Sanju Samson, FOUR! That's a rocket! Short in length around off, Samson stands back and pulls it with terrific timing over mid-wicket. Remarkable shot, says Sunil Gavaskar on air.

Strategic break. 24 needed off 24 balls. A simple equation for Rajasthan but they should try to get the remaining runs in quick time so that their NRR improves a bit. Having said that, they should not take it too lightly also at this moment as we have seen teams losing matches from this point too. Can Hyderabad spring a surprise from here?

23.06 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Sanju Samson, Wide! Wrong line, sliding down the leg side, Samson misses out on the flick shot.

23.00 IST: Khaleel Ahmed to Steven Smith, FOUR! Poor delivery from Khaleel. It is down the leg side, these are easy pickings for Smith. He just helps it on his way towards fine leg for a boundary.

Khaleel Ahmed is back into the attack.

22.57 IST: Rashid Khan to Sanju Samson, Wrong 'un on off, Samson does not pick it well and looks tom defend. He gets an inside edge which goes past the stump and towards the on side for a single.

Rashid Khan back into the attack.

22.53 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Sanju Samson, FOUR! Two in two! This time Kaul serves a short ball around off, Samson pulls it off his front foot, a great pick up shot with superb timing and it screams away to the fence at deep mid-wicket, beating the dive from Rashid Khan.

22.52 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Sanju Samson, FOUR! Kaul once again begins his over by conceding a boundary.

22.48 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Steven Smith, FOUR! Stylish from Smith. Flighted on off, Smith comes down the track and flicks it over the square leg region and the ball goes to the fence. 100 comes up for Rajasthan with that stylish boundary from their skipper.

22.47 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Ajinkya Rahane, OUT! Rahane holes out! He misses out on his half century as well. Flighted delivery outside off, Rahane looks to play inside out over long off, he does not time it well and the ball goes to David Warner in the deep.

22.40 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Sanju Samson, SIX! This is a brilliant strike from Samson. Not easy to play a shot like this. A length ball on off, Sanju takes a stride forward and lofts it over extra cover. Packs his shot with supreme timing and it has gone the distance.

22.38 IST: Rashid Khan to Sanju Samson, Excellent delivery. Wrong 'un from Rashid. It is pitched outside off, Samson looks to drive but it goes between his bat and pad. Luckily for Samson the ball misses the off stump as well.

Sanju Samson walks in next at number 3. 94 needed off 78 balls.

22.36 IST: Rashid Khan to Liam Livingstone, OUT! Rashid strikes and a brisk innings from the Englishman comes to an end. Just the wicket Hyderabad needed.

22.31 IST: Khaleel Ahmed to Liam Livingstone, Fuller ball on off, Livingstone hits it hard but there is a man at long off so just a single.

Strategic break! Rajasthan are off to a flyer. The partnership between Rahane and Livingstone is going great. They are going after the bowlers. Hyderabad will need to break this partnership or else this game will slip out of their hands.

22.27 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Liam Livingstone, FOUR! Brute power here from Livingstone. Floated delivery on middle and leg, Livingstone comes down the track and smacks it wide of long on for a boundary.

22.25 IST: Rashid Khan to Liam Livingstone, FOUR! Liam packs a punch! Short in length on middle, Livingstone goes deep inside the crease and pulls it over mid-wicket. It comes from the higher half of his bat but still has enough power to find the fence.

22.24 IST: Rashid Khan to Liam Livingstone, NOT OUT! No edge but the impact is outside off. Review lost for Rajasthan. A leg spinner landing full around off, Livingstone tries to play the paddle scoop by going down on one knee but misses and is hit on the back thigh. They appeal unsuccessfully. DRS is taken but as mentioned above, the impact was outside the line.

22.22 IST: Shout for an lbw! Not given. Rashid Khan has a chat with his skipper and then they decide to take the DRS. Our scorer over here is heard screaming that it came off the bat. Let's see...

Rashid Khan is back into the attack.

22.21 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Liam Livingstone, SIX! This is brilliant from Livingstone. He has dispatched this bouncer. It is a tennis shot that he has played. Back of a length ball and Livingstone smacks it over the bowler's head for another six.

22.20 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Liam Livingstone, FOUR! Livingstone is going after Kaul. Good length ball on middle, Liam flat-bats it over mid on for a boundary.

22.18 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Liam Livingstone, SIX! This was six the moment it left the bat. Knuckle ball, which is back of a length, Livingstone waits for it and pulls it over the mid-wicket fence and into the crowd for a maximum.

22.16 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Liam Livingstone, FOUR! In the slot for Livingstone. Back of a length ball on off, Livingstone takes full toll of it and pulls it away for a boundary through mid-wicket.

22.15 IST: Khaleel Ahmed to Ajinkya Rahane, FOUR! Edgy but Rahane and Rajasthan will take it. Not the kind of end Khaleel wanted in his first over. Full length ball outside off, Rahane looks to hit it towards long off but gets an outside edge which flies over short third man and crosses the rope on a bounce for a boundary.

22.11 IST: Rashid Khan to Liam Livingstone, SIX! This biggie has got immense power! A flighted ball on middle, Livingstone kneels down and launches it over mid-wicket for a biggie. Expensive start from Rashid.

22.09 IST: Rashid Khan to Ajinkya Rahane, SIX! Rahane is looking in killer form yet again! Floated full ball around off, Ajinkya goes down on one knee and smokes it over mid-wicket for a maximum. Clean strike.

Rashid Khan is into the attack.

22.07 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Ajinkya Rahane, FOUR! Excellent batting. Rahane uses the full pace of the ball. He moves away from the leg stump and Bhuvneshwar follows him. It is full on the pads, Rahane lofts it over square leg for a boundary.

22.06 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Ajinkya Rahane, FOUR! Smart approach from Rahane and smart batting this. Defends the first two balls and goes after the third one. Full on middle, Rahane lofts it over mid-wicket and gets a boundary.

22.03 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Ajinkya Rahane, Single to end the over. 4 runs off Shakib's first. The last ball is on the pads, Rahane flicks it to the on side and keeps the strike.

Shakib Al Hasan to bowl from the other end.

21.58 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Ajinkya Rahane, FOUR! Class! Good length ball outside off, Rahane brings out the classical cover drive in T20s and gets a boundary for it.

We are back for the chase. Liam Livingstone and Ajinkya Rahane are the new opening pair for Rajasthan. Bhuvneshwar Kumar to start the proceedings with the new ball for Hyderabad.

Exceptional bowling from Rajasthan in the second half to restrict Hyderabad to a par score. Although they didn't finish well as Varun Aaron conceded 18 runs in the final over. The touring team were going at a decent rate when the pair of Warner and Pandey were batting but then suddenly lost the plot. The Aussie played a very uncharacteristic knock which didn't feature a single boundary but Manish Pandey was in sublime touch as he stroked yet another half century.

21.41 IST: Varun Aaron to Rashid Khan, SIX! Rashid Khan finishes the innings with a biggie, first of the match! Aaron dishes out a slower one, it's on the shorter side outside off, Rashid picks it early and smashes it over mid off. It falls flush on the rope and the onfield umpire signals for it after consulting the third umpire. Hyderabad end on 160/8!

21.40 IST: Varun Aaron to Rashid Khan, FOUR! Full in length around off, Khan goes deep inside the crease and drills it through square leg for a powerful boundary.

21.38 IST: Varun Aaron to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, OUT! Unadkat with yet another catch in the field, his third to be precise.

21.35 IST: Varun Aaron to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Four byes! Valuable runs for Hyderabad! Aaron digs in a short ball on middle and leg, Kumar gets inside the bounce and tries to play the ramp shot but misses. Samson dives across to his left to stop the ball but it goes underneath his hands and races away to the fence.

21.33 IST: Jaydev Unadkat to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, On a length around off, Bhuvneshwar taps it down to covers and takes a run.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the new batsman in.

21.30 IST: Jaydev Unadkat to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT! Unadkat strikes again. His slower delivery has consumed Shakib. The length is a bit on the shorter side around off, the Bangla star tries to pump it over wide long on but fails to connect well. Gopal moves across to his left from long on and makes no mistake this time. He throws the ball out in anguish after that. With this wicket, chances of Hyderabad going past 150 looks dicey.

Rashid Khan is the new batsman in.

21.28 IST: Oshane Thomas to Wriddhiman Saha, OUT! Saha is dismissed this time. Thomas fires in a short ball on middle at 144 kph, Saha winds up for a big pull shot across the line on the leg side but it takes the outside edge and Samson makes no mistake behind the stumps. That was too quick for Saha.

21.24 IST: Jaydev Unadkat to Shakib Al Hasan, Walks down the track to a length ball and lofts it over covers for a run. 28/4 in the last 5 overs.

21.19 IST: Jaydev Unadkat to Deepak Hooda, OUT! Hooda is caught and bowled! Unadkat switches to 'round the wicket for the right-hander and strikes.

Deepak Hooda is the new batsman in.

21.15 IST: Varun Aaron to Vijay Shankar, OUT! Another one bites the dust and Hyderabad are losing the plot here. Aaron runs his fingers over the seam of the ball and lets out a slower short ball around off, Shankar stays back to pull it across the line but fails to time it well.

21.12 IST: Varun Aaron to Vijay Shankar, DROPPED BY SAMSON! But what a spectacular attempt by the young man. Back of a length delivery outside off, Shankar stays back to play at it with a straight bat but gets a big fat outside edge behind. It goes behind and Samson puts in a full length dive to his right. He fails to collect it and the ball gets deflected to third man. The batsmen cross.

* Strategic break! Rajasthan are pulling things back nicely here. At one stage it looked like Hyderabad will get to 190 but the loss of Warner followed by the wicket of a well-set Manish Pandey just before the break has put Hyderabad on the back foot. The hosts will now look to make the most of it. Shakib Al Hasan is the new man in.21.09 IST: Shreyas Gopal to Manish Pandey, OUT! Brilliance from Sanju Samson! The crowd erupts, this is a timely breakthrough for Rajasthan as they have removed the danger man. A googly from Gopal. It lands around off and turns back in. Pandey moves back to play at it late but seems to have missed the ball. He loses his balance a bit after that and Samson is quick to dislodge the bails.SRH 121/3 in 15 overs

Stumping appeal has been referred upstairs. Not much excitement shown by the Rajasthan players. Let's see...

21.06 IST: Shreyas Gopal to Manish Pandey, FOUR! This is a really nice shot! Manish Pandey gives himself the room by moving back to a full ball in the line of the stumps and then pumps it over extra cover for a boundary.

21.03 IST: Riyan Parag to Vijay Shankar, Played to the mid-wicket region by the batsman. They pick up a single.

Steven Smith is seen getting his right hand strapped. Rajasthan and Australia will hope there is nothing serious with him.

21.00 IST: Oshane Thomas to Vijay Shankar, Back of a length ball on off, angling in, Pandey stays back and opens the face of his bat at the last moment to guide it towards third man. A single to end a successful over for Rajasthan.

Vijay Shankar is the new batsman in.

20.56 IST: Oshane Thomas to David Warner, OUT! Superman Smith has taken a stunner to dismiss his countryman! What an outstanding catch. Captain leading from the front. Thomas starts his new spell with a shorter delivery in the line of the stumps, Warner hops back to play a big shot but mistimes his shot in the air towards extra cover. Steven Smith immediately rushes across to his right from mid off and dives full length to take a one-handed ripper.

20.54 IST: Stuart Binny to Manish Pandey, Fifty for Pandey, his 14th in the League! It has come off 27 balls. Fullish and on middle, Manish forces it back to the bowler who misfields and deflects it towards covers. They cross for a single. Another fine knock by Manish, he is just continuing from where he left off in the previous match. A welcome sight for Hyderabad.

20.49 IST: Jaydev Unadkat to David Warner, A mishit! Unadkat continues to bowl off-pace deliveries, it's a bit short and on off, Warner is early into his attempted shot across the line but it takes the bottom edge and rolls behind to the keeper.

20.40 IST: Riyan Parag to Manish Pandey, FOUR! Goes downtown and finds the fence! Tossed up ball landing full around off, Pandey lines up behind the delivery and powers it over the bowler's head for a boundary.

20.37 IST: Shreyas Gopal to Manish Pandey, FOUR! Two in two! Gopal is not learning. Drops another short delivery, on middle and it stays a bit low too, Pandey adjusts well, turns inside the crease and pulls it over mid-wicket for a boundary.

20.36 IST: Shreyas Gopal to Manish Pandey, FOUR! Finds the gap this time. A batsman of his class won't miss out often. Gopal once again is on the shorter side around off, Pandey uses the depth of his crease well and cuts it through the gap between point and short third man for a boundary.

Strategic break! Steady going for Hyderabad after losing Williamson. Warner has adopted a cautious approach while Pandey once again is looking in sublime form. The tourists will want this pair to bat long as there isn't much promise shown by their middle order.

20.32 IST: Riyan Parag to David Warner, Flatter delivery, short and on off, Warner jumps on the back foot and hits it to sweeper cover. One more added to the total, six singles from Parag's first over.

20.27 IST: Oshane Thomas to Manish Pandey, FOUR! Width on offer outside off and punished. Pandey goes back inside the crease and slaps it in front of square on the off side for a cracking boundary. SRH 50/1 in 5.5 Overs

Loopy and full outside off, Manish takes a stride forward and lofts it over mid off for a boundary. 5 runs and a wicket from Gopal's first over.

20.18 IST: Shreyas Gopal to Kane Williamson, OUT! Timber! Gopal hunts down Williamson. He continues to pick prized scalps and Kane is the latest entrant. A well-disguised googly from him. It lands around off and spins back in sharply. Williamson tries to flick but misses. It brushes his pads and then goes on to disturb the stumps. SRH 28/1 in 3.5 Overs

20.13 IST: Shreyas Gopal to David Warner, A googly to begin with. It's short and on middle, Warner punches it off his back foot but finds extra cover.

Bowling change.

20.12 IST: Varun Aaron to Kane Williamson, FOUR! Brilliant from Williamson. There is a little bit of width outside off, Kane just leans into his shot and crunches it through the gap at backward point. Such a delight to watch, Williamson.

20.09 IST: Oshane Thomas to David Warner, Skiddy delivery. It pitches just outside leg and beats Warner's attempted flick shot. It goes towards third man off his pads and they take a couple of leg byes. Good running between the wickets.

20.07 IST: Oshane Thomas to Kane Williamson, FOUR! Misfield this time. It's all happening very early in the game. Rajasthan will have to pull up their socks in the field. Poor delivery to start with. It's short and wide outside off, Williamson slaps it through backward point and Aaron coming across to his right from third man makes a complete mess. A boundary results and Oshane screams in disappointment.

20.06 IST: Oshane Thomas to David Warner, Overthrows yet again at the start of the over! What's going on? A back of a length delivery outside off, Warner dabs it towards backward point and crosses for a brisk run.

Oshane Thomas to bowl from the other end. A slip is in place for him.

20.05 IST: Varun Aaron to David Warner, Slower in pace but the line is too straight, Warner flicks it through the gap at mid-wicket and Unadkat chases it from mid on. He puts in a slide to stop the ball but misfields and the batsmen collect the third run as well. Aaron is not happy. 9 from the first over!

20.01 IST: Varun Aaron to David Warner, Five runs to get things underway! A hesitant start from Warner. Aaron delivers it on a back of a length outside off, angling away, Warner decides to leave it but is late in withdrawing his bat. They cross for a hesitant single as the point fielder misses his shy at the striker's end. The fielder backing up fails to stop the ball and it speeds away to the fence.

19.58 IST: Time to play the game! David Warner and Kane Williamson to open for Hyderabad. Opening partnerships have been the key to success for the visiting team and with Jonny Bairstow missing, it will be interesting to find out how it goes for them now. Varun Aaron to begin proceedings with a slip in place. Let's play...

Match Preview: Both Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will begin life without their key overseas players when they face-off in the Indian Premier League on Saturday. At this stage, Royals are more affected than Sunrisers with the absence of Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer, who have left for England to join the World Cup camp. Sunrisers will surely miss the services of their destructive opener and Englishman Jonny Bairstow, who formed the most potent opening pairing alongside David Warner. (Full Match Preview)
