India vs West Indies, Highlights 1st ODI:

India vs West Indies, 1st ODI: India have won this game and have made it look so easy. Effortless. All thanks to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. They lost an early wicket of Dhawan but their counter-attacking 246-run stand ensured that they took India within touching distance. Rayudu and Sharma then ensured that there were no further inroads. Windies were flavourless in their bowling. Cannot blame them though. It was a batting track but nobody could get their lines right. They had an early wicket but didn't capitalize on it. All of them going for runs with Thomas and Bishoo picking up a wicket each. Earlier on, India were given a run for their money as Hetmyer and co. posted 320+ where one thought it would be a challenging total for the hosts. (SCORECARD) (BALL-BY-BALL COMMENTARY) (STREAMING)

13.03 IST: India win the toss and choose to bowl first

13.01 IST: Oshane Thomas and Chanderpaul Hemraj make their debuts for the West Indies.

PITCH REPORT: Lot of brown grass on the pitch. There are cracks on the pitch so it is likely to turn. It is hard underneath and teams would like to bat first as cracks will open up in the second innings.

12.55 IST: The one-day unit is fresh from a strong show in the Middle East during the Asia Cup and will be hungry to continue that same rhythm. For the Windies, apart from Marlon Samuels, Jason Holder and Kemar Roach, there hardly seems to be any experience. This looks like the start of another one-sided series. Hopefully, it does not turn out that way. Don't go anywhere as the toss is just a few moments away.

12.54 IST: The Test series was a clean sweep. Will it be a similar result come the ODIs? Might just be a bit more competition in this format. However, with a squad that is without Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, it will be a tough ask to make it competitive. The Windies are not much different from the side that turned up for the Tests and though, ODI format involves lesser skill, it still might be more against this Indian unit.

12.47 IST: Rishabh Pant gets his ODI cap from the legendary MS Dhoni!

12.35 IST: With the match scheduled to start at 13.30 IST, here is a sneak peek into the Indian team's high-flying preparations ahead of the game:

12.10 IST: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the 1st ODI between India and West Indies to be played in Guwahati, Assam.

Brief Preview: A formidable India will hope to get more answers for their unresolved middle-order puzzle when they take on a reeling West Indies in the five-match ODI series starting here Sunday, ticking off the home team's countdown to the 2019 World Cup. The World Cup in England is less than eight months away and India have 18-odd games left to decide their middle order, mainly the number four position where many have been tried but with little success. The series will also mark captain Virat Kohli's return to white-ball cricket as he had taken a much-needed break during the team's triumphant campaign in the Asia Cup. Kohli is expected to try out a new combination in the middle order that will see Rishabh Pant make his ODI debut, following his exploits in the longest format. (READ FULL PREVIEW HERE)
