1. Lascaux caves, FranceThese caves are famous for Paleolithic paintings which are approximately 17,300 years old.
These caves are restricted for public use since 1963.
They are a UNSECO World heritage site and only a guard enters the caves once a week for a few minutes.
This is so because any human intervention is considered destructive for the place which has precious fossil evidence.
