A new poll has predicted that the far-right candidate Marine Le Pen is likely to win the first round of the French presidential election.
The poll conducted by OpinionWay revealed that with 25 per cent of votes, Le Pen is far ahead of the independent candidate Emmanuel Macron and The Republicans' Francois Fillon who are expected to get 21 per cent and 20 per cent respectively.
Socialist candidate Benoit Hamon is expected to come fourth with 16 per cent, while left-wing Jean-Luc Melenchon is likely to be at the fifth spot, securing 13 per cent of voters' support.
The first round of the French presidential election is scheduled for April 23, while the run-off is supposed to take place on May 7.
