J&K: Uri-style attack at army camp in Rajouri ahead I-Day; 3 troops martyred, 2 terrorists shot down

A day earlier, three LeT terrorists were neutralised by security forces in Budgam. One of the killed terrorists was involved in the killing of civilians Rahul Bhat and Amreen Bhat.

Jammu & Kashmir: Three Indian army troops made the supreme sacrifice after two terrorists attempted to infiltrate an army company operating base in Pargal in the Darhal area of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. Both the terrorists of the suspected suicide group were gunned by the security forces. 

"Someone (terrorists) tried to cross the fence of Army camp at Pargal. Sentry challenged and exchange of fire took place," Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh said.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah condoled the death of three soldiers in a terrorist attack on an army camp in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. "Very sorry to hear about the death in the line of duty of three soldiers following a militant attack in Rajouri. While condemning the attack I send my condolences to the families & my prayers for the swift recovery of those officers & jawans injured in the attack #Rajouri," the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister tweeted.

Security officials have cordoned off the area and additional parties have been dispatched to the location. The attack comes days ahead of the celebration of the 75th Independence Day. A day earlier, three LeT terrorists were neutralised by security forces in Budgam. One of the killed terrorists was involved in the killing of civilians Rahul Bhat and Amreen Bhat.
