BJP wants to make country like Pak by putting those in jail who raise questions: Aaditya Thackeray | Exclusive

Attacking the BJP, Aaditya Thackeray said that he believes it's the only organisation that was doing politics during the Covid time also, planning on how to break a party when the CM was in hospital. But the problem I have is not that they broke Shiv Sena or NCP, but what the state gained from this.

Uddhav Thackeray's son and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has said that posts will come and go but if you keep on working then people support you. Speaking to India TV in an exclusive conversation, Aaditya said that we decided not to stop them (Eknath Shinde and other Shiv Sena leaders when they rebelled against the party) who were leaving us.

Aaditya Thackeray, while speaking on the party split when the Eknath Shinde-led rebel camp aligned with the BJP, said they have no regrets of leaving the government accommodation. This (power) will come and go. The main issue is why they left us... join or jail policy was implemented in Maharashtra also.

Aaditya Thackeray, who is also an MLA from Worli, mentioned that people thank them for their service during the Covid time and hope they are back in the government.

Aaditya Thackeray on Shiv Sena split

Speaking on Uddhav Thackeray's health when Shiv Sena suffered a split, Aaditya said his father went through two operations. One was planned and the second was emergency, it was Covid time also, one needs some time to get fit, so whatever he was able to do via WhatsApp, getting in contact with the leaders or indulging in government work, he did, people who supported us back then are with us today also but there were some others who we considered our own but it was only then when they thought of leaving us.

Further speaking on party's split, Aaditya Thackeray said that they had intelligence inputs that something was wrong, our party was punctured but we are rising again.

What did State gain from Mahayuti govt, asks Aaditya

Aaditya alleged that the government led by Mahayuti alliance (comprising BJP, Eknath's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP) is unconstitutional. Industries are leaving Maharashtra, farmers' suicides have increased, crime against women is on the rise, and criminals are making reels in their offices. When the entire country was fighting Covid, the BJP was focusing on politics in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, he said.

Won't comment on Sanjay Raut's 'Aurangzeb' remark on PM Modi

When asked to respond on Sanjay Raut's 'Aurangzeb' remark against PM Modi, Aaditya said he wouldn't comment on this as this is between senior leaders and he doesn't want to interfere.

Aaditya on Ram Mandir

Speaking on Ram Mandir, Aaditya said that in 2018 when 'Bhajpa' forgot, we said 'pehle mandir phir sarkaar,' (First temple then the government). "We went to Ayodhya in 2019 and will go again when INDIA bloc will win the elections," he added.

Aaditya on Opposition's charge that BJP will change Constitution

"The biggest dhoka (danger) to the Constitution is from the BJP. How can we trust when they say they won't change the Constitution, all the parties in the INDIA bloc have come together for the betterment of the nation," Aaditya said.

He further slammed the BJP saying, by doing Hindu-Muslim, what to eat and what not, all these are issues to divert peoples' attention but why are they not talking about unemployment, inflation, Swachh Bharat, Skill India, and Fit India.

Will Rahul Gandhi speak five lines on Veer Savarkar? Here's what Aaditya says

When asked to respond on PM Modi's comment asking will Uddhav Thackeray ask Rahul Gandhi to speak five lines on Veer Savarkar, Aaditya said that let there be an open debate between Rahul Gandhi and PM Modi as proposed by Supreme Court Justice, adding we are too small people to comment on these issues.

Aaditya responds to 'putra moh' dig

Responding to Shiv Sena's opponents 'putra moh' (attachment with son) allegation against Uddhav Thackeray that it broke the party, Aaditya said, "first they said it was due to Hindutva, then it was Ajit Pawar, then funds, then nationalism, then due to my blue shirt, now they came to 'putra moh' after 2.5 years, but was this not an issue when you were in government with us, may be due to 'putra moh' we lost the World Cup also (he said in an apparent dig at the Centre), is parivaarvaad (dynastic politics) not there in the BJP?"

Aaditya further said that they are not scared if tomorrow Uddhav Thackeray is put in jail, if we were then we would have been with BJP. The Worli MLA alleged that the BJP wants to make the country like Pakistan, by putting those in jail if they raise questions.

Aaditya Thackeray questioned the BJP asking why they want to take support from Raj Thackeray's MNS who thrashed north Indians. On June 4, INDIA bloc will form the government, he said.
