The master of Bollywood thrillers, Sriram Raghavan is back with his crazy world revolving around a blind pianist who 'witnesses' a murder. Titled AndhaDhun, the film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, Radhika Apte among others and has garnered rave reviews from critics and audience alike. After witnessing a slow start on Friday with the business of Rs 2 crore, the thriller showed a good jump on Saturday.
According to a report in Box Office India, the film has minted Rs 5 crore on the second day taking its total business to over Rs 7 crore. On the other hand, Loveyatri which released on the same day showed no sign of growth with Rs 2 crore business of day 2. Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain film backed by Salman Khan has garnered Rs 4 crore so far. Meanwhile, Hollywood film Venom has emerged to be winner in this box office race. The Tom Hardy flick has minted Rs 9.25 crore in two days.
AndhaDhun is being applauded for being a gritty tale with dark treatment. Comedy is subtle and the performances are intriguing. All the characters in the film are grey-shade and selfish, which resonate with people today. The script will keep you hooked till the last scene and even editing is crisp.
On the other hand, Loveyatri has been panned by critics for poor writing and performances. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the story has been written by Niren Bhatt.
