New Delhi: Veteran socialists Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar and Mulayam Singh Yadav have once again decided to join hands to form a new political party.

Making the announcement after the meeting of these leaders at Mulayam Singh Yadav's residence, former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that Mulayam Singh has been authorized to coordinate and take this forward with leaders of different parties likely to join the new party.

"We have authorized Mulayam ji to carry out discussions so that  all Non-Congress,Non-BJP parties can be merged together to form a single party", said former Bihar Chief Minister.

Nitish Kumar further said that they will be holding their next meting on December 22.

“We will hold next meeting on 22nd December which will be followed by a protest over black money issue, said Nitish Kumar.

He also said that the leaders participating in today's meet  will have common stand on issues both inside and outside parliament.

The new party is likely to be named as ‘Samajwadi Janata Dal' and Mulayam Singh looks set to be its first president, according to sources.

Talking to India TV reporter Veeresh Pandey, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad said that they have come together to fight communal forces. When asked if they are doing this out of fear from Modi, Lalu said that Yadavas are not afraid of anyone.

Earlier, the meeting of JD(U), SP, RJD, INLD and JD(S) leaders began at Mulayam Singh Yadav's residence.

Apart from the three Yadav brothers- Mulayam,Ramgopal and Shivpal, those who attended this meeting included Nitish Kumar, Sharad Yadav,K C Tyagi,Lalu Yadav,Prem Chand Gupta, Kamal Morarka and H D Deve Gowda.

JD(U) President Sharad Yadav had earlier said the agenda of the meet was aimed to ponder over the possibility of a new front to counter the BJP-led government.

"We are trying to bring together people with similar ideologies in the proposed front. This third front will emerge as the voice of the middle-class," Sharad Yadav had said.
