Mathura (UP): Ten langoors have been deployed apart from state policemen, National Security Guards and Special Protection Group to guard the President Pranab Mukherjee from the scourge of monkeys at the Vrindavan Chandrodaya temple and Thakur Banke Bihari Temple here.
The President will be visiting Mathura on November 16 to lay the foundation stone for the sanctum sanctorum of Chandrodaya Temple in Vrindaban. He will also visit the famous Thakur Banke Bihari Temple in Mathura.
SSP Mathura Manzil Saini said, the entire route will be handed over to state police, NSG, SPG and Army commands prior to the President's approval.
Devotees coming to Vrindavan have been advised not to visit Thakur Banke Bihari Temple till 1 pm on November 16 (Sunday).
Five helipads are being set up near Chandrodaya Temple, out of which one each will be used for the choppers bringing Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. The remaining three helipads will be used for the President's entourage.
After visiting Chandrodaya temple, the President will visit Banke Bihari Temple by sitting in a battery-operated rickshaw. As the rickshaw will pass through Bihari Gali, the entourage may face the scourge of monkeys, for which the langoors will be deployed to keep them off.
A 60-feet long and 20-feet wide platform is being erected at the venue, which will host nearly 1,500 people. The President, the Governor and the Chief Minister will address the gathering.
All houses, ashrams and guest houses in the vicinity will be inspected by security personnel prior to the visit. All sweet shops and chaat shops operating near Banke Bihari temple have been asked not to use LPG cylinders during this period, an official said.
