New Delhi: Twentyone-year-old Pallavi Grover, a B.Sc. 3rd year student, committed suicide on Sunday inside the AIIMS nursing hotel by hanging herself from a ceiling fan.
Relatives of Pallavi Grover alleged that she was mentally upset because of constant harassment by the hostel warden and her class teacher. Her relatives and some of the students sat on dharna outside the AIIMS director Dr M C Mishra's residence.
Pallavi Grover is a resident of Hari Nagar, Delhi, but was staying in the nursing hostel to pursue her studies. On Sunday evening, she returned from her home to the hospital, but stopped taking calls at night from her mother.
Pallavi's mother rang up her friends, who found her hanging from the ceiling fan.
Renu, a friend of Pallavi, disclosed that she had expressed her desire to commit suicide several times in the recent past.
The relatives of Pallavi Grover have demanded termination of the services of the hostel warden and the teacher. Police picket has been posted outside the AIIMS director's residence.
