Gandhinagar: The Gujarat police on Saturday told a local court that self-proclaimed godman Asaram Bapu's sadhika (assistant) Dhruvben used to force sexually abused women at the ashram to undergo abortion to cover up such acts.

Special Public Prosecutor R. C. Kodekar  told the court that during questioning of the victim from Surat, it was revealed that some of the sexual abuse victims got pregnant and the sadhika named Dhruvben took them to a doctor in Ahmedabad for abortion.

Kodekar told the court that police are finding out the identity of the doctor and the location of the abortion clinic. For this, police needs to interrogate Dhruvben in the presence of Asaram, he said.
