New Delhi: Asus has launched its mid-range smartphone, the PadFone Mini, a 4-inch 3G dual SIM Android smartphone that transforms into a 7-inch tablet. The device is priced at Rs 15,999.

The 4-inch PadFone Mini features a screen with a resolution of 800 x 480p and is powered by a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 SoC clocked at 1.6GHz, coupled with 1 GB of RAM.

Internal storage includes 8GB with microSD card support up to 64GB.

The highlight of the device is that it can be docked into the 7-inch screen to make the whole device a tablet. To ensure a seamless experience when switching between smartphone and tablet modes, PadFone mini's exclusive DynamicDisplay technology ensures that apps are correctly — and instantly — resized for the appropriate screen size.

The tablet, which is nothing but a 7-inch screen with extra battery backup, is powered by the phone itself. The 7-inch tablet has a resolution of 1280 x 800p and a 2100mAh battery. The PadFone runs on Android 4.3 and uses Asus's ZenUI.

The PadFone Mini comes with 8-megapixel (8MP) main camera, 2MP front-facing snapper and new ZenUI user interface.
