To support engineering talent and push for growth in India's iOS developer community, the company has announced to establish an iOS App Design and Development Accelerator in Bengaluru where specialised support and training will be provided to the tens of thousands of iOS developers.

"With the opening of this new facility in Bengaluru, we're giving developers access to tools which will help them create innovative apps for customers around the world," the statement added.

The accelerator is set to open early next year.

The team will work to instruct developers on best practices, help them hone their skills and transform the design, quality and performance of their apps on the iOS platform.

Cook is expected to travel to Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi later this week. However, there is no official confirmation of his schedule from Apple. There are also reports that he will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his stay here.

Tomorrow, he is expected to travel to Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana where he is likely to announce a new digital maps centre for the state capital.
