DCW vs UPW, WPL 2023 Highlights: Delhi defeat UP by 42 runs

And Delhi have won the match by 42 runs. Brilliant from Meg Lanning's team as they remain unbeaten in the tournament. They were yet again dominant on the night. First with the bat as they scored a huge 211 on the board. UP were on the back foot for most of the chase with wickets falling and no batter going big when it needed. Jonassen and Kapp brought UP reeling at 31/3 as the big fish Healy walked back. Navgire, Sehrwat were also done early as they struggled more. McGrath was very good with her assault but she found no partners as the Warriorz faced a loss here. It was pleasure bringing this game to you, hope you enjoyed as well. See you next time!

Menawhile, McGrath is continuing her show and has gone past the 50-run mark. She is hitting some crucial runs and mitigating the loss margin.

Jonassen has got another one as Devika has been caught out. 

And the Capitals have killed this game. Despite some spark from McGrath, Warriorz are not having much to show in the recent overs. They need 99 from 24 games and it is almost over for them.

McGrath is leading the charge and is hitting them sweet.

Deepti is struggling at the moment and the Capitals have restricted them to 33/3 after 6 overs.

And now Kapp strikes. Sehrawat has edged this one and the wicket-keeper takes it. UP are imploding at the moment.

And here's the first wicket. Jonassen got the wicket of UP captain Healy early. She pitched this far from her and Healy gets a top edge carried to the off-side

Healy has made an expressive start. Meanwhile, Sehrawat is struggling to keep up with the flow.

And we are back with the chase as Healy has announced herself in the first two balls itself. She has crunched two fours off the first two balls. Kapp is bowling the opening over.

And Capitals have scored a good 211-run total on board. Well set by Lanning as she made 70, before Jemimah, Jonassen cashed in and took Capitals past 200. This is a good surface to bat but the Warriorz will need to bat out of their skins and without the power of Grace Harris, this can be more tricky. Lanning now has the orange cap and she has been brilliant. Back with the chase in a moment.

DCW are cruising well but UPW are taking wickets to keep them in check. The capitals are going around 10 runs an over and are well set for a big total. Can UPW pull some more runs here?

And as we see that, Capsey has been sent back by Ismail. Pitched up, she did not get the timing and was caught at covers as the Capitals are 4 down now.

Capsey is going well and striking well at the moment. She has hit a few boundaries and DCW are ahead at the moment.

And Lanning has been bolwed. Rajeshwari has got the prized wicket of the DCW captain. Was pitched on a good length and probably rushed on to the batter as she looked to cut this one on the off side. Beats Lanning and she goes packing.

And Kapp has been caught at mid-on. Ecclestone gets the wicket as Deepti takes a fine high catch. Was pitched on a fuller length, Kapp came down the ground and wanted to clear the field. Could not time it as the ball went up and Deepti does the rest. DC have gone past 100 as Lanning is continuing her assault.

It's raining in Navi Mumbai and the play has been halted. Capitals would be disappointed to walk back as they were going so well. Their captain Lanning was going all guns blazing with another fifty and Kapp was also eyeing well.

Another 50-run stand for the DC openers. They are punishing the poor deliveries and are not minding taking some risks. Good show by DCW. Meanwhile, UPW are still looking for a wicket. After 6 overs, DCW have scored 62/0 and are now firing runs

A fine start for Delhi. They are taking fruits out of the bad balls. Some balls are swinging but these two are mitigating the risks well. Ismail has been brought for her third over inside the powerplay but she is going for runs in this over

I don't care about what we would do first. The wicket looks really good and shall be the same throughout the game. We are going with the same XI. We have to start well as it is a new day and. It is going to be a good challenge for us.

We are going bowl first. Little bit of green on the surface and that is rare in India. We have made a large call, Grace Harris sits out and Ismail comes in place for her. We have made an impact call and hopefully Ismail does that tonight. We have some talented local Indian players and it is a benefical for us. The belief within the group is there and it will be tested tonight against a good Delhi side.

UP have won the toss and have opted to bowl first. Surprisingly, last match's hero Grace Harris sits out and Shabnim Ismail comes in.

It's a change of pitch and that makes one side 48 meters and 60 meters on the other side. There was a little bit of rain around, 28 degrees and a little bit of humidity. It's a fresh pitch and the bowlers will have to work out on what they need to do. Looks green too and shall have something for the quick bowlers. There has been a lot more swing here than at the Brabourne.
