Rahul Chahar's double strike push KKR on backfoot
WIckets of Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana in one over has put PBKS on top. Rahul Chahar got the better of the KKR skipper as Iyer goes for a big shot but fails to connect and Kagiso Rabada takes a simple catch. Then he trapped Nitish Rana ahead of the stumps. Rana goes for a review but its plump. To add to KKR's trouble it was two-wicket maiden for Rahul.
Brar takes a stunner to remove Venkatesh
Harpreet Brar takes a stunning catch at the cover point to remove Venkatesh Iyer. The ball was traveling at the speed of light, Brar finds himself in the middle, ball hits his hand and he takes it on the rebound. Odean Smith takes his first wicket of the match.
Rabada removes Rahane
Kagiso Rabada gets the first wicket for his new team Punjab Kings. Outside off ball and Rahane goes for a slash, Odean Smith takes a difficult catch at third man. KKR need to keep the wicket in hand. Iyer joins Iyer in the middle. All eyes will be on Shreyas.

Four wicket haul by Umesh Yadav, two crucial wickets by Tim Southee and one wicket each from Shivam Mavi, Sunil Narine, and Andre Russell helped KKR reduce PBKS to 137 in the eighth match of IPL 2022 here at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Friday. It was Bhanuka Rajapaksa's blistering knock and Kagiso Rabada's strikes down the order that helped Punjab get to a decent total. With dew in play, KKR will look to finish the game early and boost their NRR.
Four-wicket haul for Umesh Yadav
This is Umesh Yadav 2.0. He is now the purple cap holder with eight wickets to his name and four in the game. KKR has used him to perfection. In his last over of the spell he has removed Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar.
Southee removes Shahrukh Khan on duck
Excellent captaincy by Shreyas Iyer as another bowling change provides him a wicket. Southee comes out to bowl his 3rd in the 13th over. Khan goes for a big shot in order to break the shackles as he had used four balls before the wicket ball. The shot goes straight up in the air and Nitish Rana takes the catch. PBKS six down.
Back to back wickets for KKR, PBKS in deep trouble
First Liam Livingstone and then Raj Bawa, two quick wickets for KKR and PBKS find themselves on the back foot. Liam goes for a big shot but finds a fielder at long-off. Tim Southee took an easy catch on the ropes. Raj was looking great as he hit a boundary just before getting bowled against Sunil Narine.

Dhawan departs for 16, KKR's fightback continues
Shikhar Dhawan edges one outside off and Sam Billings makes no mistake behind the stumps. Tim Southee has his first wicket of the night and it's a big one. Slower ball does the trick for him. PBKS need to make a big score to stay in the contest as there will be dew in the next innings.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa on fire but Shivam Mavi has the last laugh
After hitting three sixes and boundary against Shivam Mavi, Sri Lankan batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa was sent back by the Indian bowler. The southpaw scored 31 runs in just nine balls with the help of three sixes and three fours.
Umesh removes Punjab captain
A string of outswings followed by a beautiful inswinger gets Mayank Agarwal. It's a plan wicket. Mayank finds himself right in front of the wicket. Umesh Yadav continues his great form with the ball. Four wickets for him so far in the season.
