The Sports Ministry on May 5 invited nominations for the 2020 National Sports Awards including the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and the Arjuna Award. 

India women's cricketer Deepti Sharma, who had an impressive outing in the recently-concluded T20 World Cup, was felicitated by the West Bengal government on Saturday.

Poonam Yadav took four wickets while Deepti Sharma scored an important 49* as India secured a 17-run victory over Australia.

Off-spinner Deepti Sharma (2 for 19) and left-arm spinner Radha Yadav (3/23 in 4 overs) bowled brilliantly to restrict the Proteas women to 98 for 8. India chased down the target in 17.1 overs.

Deepti Sharma returned with figures of 4/8 from four overs against South Africa.

The 21-year-old Deepti Sharma holds the second position in the ICC WODI all-rounder rankings.

Mithali Raj's Velocity overcame some anxious moments late in the innings before registering a three-wicket win over Trailblazers to keep the race to final open. 

A solid knock was expected from Mithali on her 200th ODI but she ended up with nine off 28 balls.
