New Delhi: A local BJP leader has threatened Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah that he will behead him if he eats beef.
"Let him eat beef at Gopi Circle in Shivamogga. If he does so, he will be beheaded. We won't think twice about that," a report published in Deccan Chronicle quoted BJP leader SN Channabasappa as saying.
The BJP further charged Siddaramaiah of hurting the sentiments of Hindus by making such a statement.
"The Congress leader has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. We have all grown up drinking cow's milk," he said.

Channabasappa's remark came in the wake of Siddaramaiah's remark that he will eat beef and no one could stop him from doing so.
"I have not eaten go-maansa (cow-meat) until today, (but) who are you to ask me whether I have or not?" he had said.
The beef controversy has become a much talked issue in recent time with political parties attacking each other especially after the unfortunate incident of killing of a 50-year-old Muslim man in Uttar Pradesh's Dadri.
Beef is banned in many states of India because cow is considered a sacred animal in this country.
