New Delhi: Dubbing BJP and Congress as two sides of the same coin, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said their political foes were trying their best to ensure that AAP fails to perform in Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief, however, said that his party government will transform the city in next five years despite the “malicious intentions” of other parties.  Hitting out at the Centre over “lack of communication” between it and the Delhi government, Kejriwal said, “We struggled before the election and only public supported us.

But our struggle has still not finished as the central government is trying its best that AAP fails in Delhi.  “Delhi does not have full statehood status so in many cases we have to write to the central government. In the last three months, I have written many letters and sent many proposals but there has been no response from the Centre.

They have been sitting on the letters sent by us.” Calling Congress and BJP as “two sides of the same coin”, the Delhi Chief Minister said no political party wants AAP to succeed. “BJP and Congress don't have problem with each other.

They have problem with AAP,” he said.

“If BJP comes to power, they give contracts to Congress members and vice versa. But in AAP government, political contracts are cancelled and only ‘aam aadmi' gets the contract,” Kejriwal said after distributing compensation cheques to farmers who have suffered crop loss due to unseasonal rain in Outer Delhi's Bawana area.

Attacking the BJP-led central government over corruption, Kejriwal said, “Recently, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government arrested a constable red-handed while taking bribe. We sent him to jail but we soon started getting calls. The Commissioner of Police also called up ACB head asking him to transfer the case to them.

“Why should we transfer the case when they cannot keep a check on corruption? Acting against us, the Delhi Police registered an FIR of kidnapping against ACB. Delhi Police is not doing this but BJP is making them do this.

“When the case went to the court, Delhi Police said that it doesn't come under Delhi government and we cannot arrest them. But the judge refused to listen to their argument and gave the ACB three-day custody of the constable. They also lost the case in High Court,” Kejriwal said.
