New Delhi: Humans have always been in the quest of overcoming and controlling everything around them. With the advent of technology and its evolution, the quest is getting bigger and bigger. But no matter how powerful human become, we all will still depend on nature and its mercy, because despite of our technological advancements, just a jerk of nature in any form of natural calamity, can shatter our lives in a fraction of seconds and natural disasters like tornadoes, earth quakes, volcanic eruption etc . proves this statement quite well.

Tornado, also known as cyclone or twisters, occurs due to the clash between the cold dry air moving in one direction and wet winds moving in opposite direction. As a result of this clash, a violent rotating air column which is in contact with both the earth surface and the clouds is formed. This is the formation of tornado.

Here we present you the list of 10 most life threatening tornadoes in the world:

Natchez Tornado

Known as the second deadliest single tornado in the history of United States, The Great Natchez Tornado hit Natchez, Mississippi on May 7, 1840. The massive tornado formed southwest of Natchez and moved northeast along the Mississippi River. The twister tossed 60 flatboats into the river, drowning their crews and passengers. While boats were picked up and thrown onto land, many doing business onshore were also killed, since none of the people were alarmed about the tornado. A piece of a steamboat window was reportedly found 30 miles from the river. Over 317 people were killed and more than $1.26 million of infrastructure damaged.
