Actors Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 is one of the most anticipated films of the year. People are eagerly waiting for the film; however, the release date is yet to be announced. Now, if latest reports are to be believed, the makers want to have Diwali release but Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan is also scheduled to hit the screens on the same day. Thus, the makers are trying hard to avoid the clash.

According to a report in Bollywood life, Lyca Productions doesn’t want the box office clash. They approached Aamir and requested him to postpone the date of his film. However, the actor feels that Diwali is the right time to release Thugs. Thus, he doesn't seem keen to change the date.

The online portal quoted a source as saying, “The makers want to release ‘2.0’ during Diwali, so they tried to discuss things with Aamir Khan as his movie ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is scheduled to release on the same day. However, Aamir said a resounding no when they first approached him. The actor feels Diwali is the perfect time to release ‘Thugs’ and hence, he is holding on to the date.”

It is also being said that the makers will try to convince the superstar once again.

On a related note, Thugs of Hindostan also features Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles.
