Tamradhwaj Sahu is the present Home Minister of Chhattisgarh in the Bhupesh Baghel Cabinet along with several portfolios including the Public Works Department, Jail, Tourism and Dharmik Nyas And Dharmasv. He is representing the Durg Gramin constituency in the Chhattisgarh Assembly. In 2018, Sahu defeated the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Jageshwar Sahu by 27,112 votes. Sahu won the Dhamdha constituency twice in a row in 1998 and 2003 and represented the Bemetara seat in 2008 by defeating BJP's Awadhesh Singh Chandel. However, he lost to Chandel from Bemetara in 2013 by 15,114 votes. Tamradhwaj Sahu also won the Durga Lok Sabha constituency in 2014 by defeating BJP's Saroj Pandey by 16,848 votes
