18th May 2017 was indeed a black day for the Indian TV and film industry as Reema Lagoo breathed her last on this very day. The popular actress was playing Dayawanti Mehta in Mahesh Bhatt’s TV show Naamkarann.
But as they say that the show must go on, the makers of the daily show have now signed another TV actress to play Reema’s character. Buzz has it that Ragini Shah will be replacing Reema Lagoo in the show
According to a TOI report, Ragini who has earlier worked in shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum and Sarawasti Chandra will now be seen as Dayawanti Mehta.
The audience loved Reema's character of an antagonist and even after the leap Reema Lagoo continued to impeccably portray multi shades of her character.
After her shocking and saddening death, her colleagues from the industry felt that she has left a void in the Indian television and film industry. Also, the team of Naamkarann called off the shooting of the show for a day to mourn her death.
Reports also suggests that the lady celebrated the 200 episodes of the show and then left the sets due to her chest pain.
If reports are to be believed, Reema wrapped up the shoot by 7 PM but was on the sets to celebrate the 200 episodes of the show. After she suffered from cardiac ingestion, she left from there and informed the production house that she will be late tomorrow. But, nobody knew that they will not get the chance to see the actress again.
Reema Lagoo died due to a cardiac arrest in the wee hours on Thursday at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. She was 59. She was known for her endearing performances in movies such as Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Kal Ho Na Ho, Aashiqui and Vaastav.
