Bagpat (UP): A 24-year-old priest of a local temple was shot dead allegedly by two bike-borne youths in Ramnagar locality here, police said today.  

Sewagiri, a priest at the Shiv temple, entered into an altercation with the youths outside the temple premises in Badaut area last night, they said.

Two accused hit him with their bike and later shot him dead following which they fled from the spot, police said.  The priest was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead, they said.

An FIR has been registered in this connection and no arrests have been made so far, they added.
