The woman alleged that she had earlier approached the Director General of Police and the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), but no action was taken.
After a fresh complaint was filed with the CMO, it was sent to the Hamirpur Superintendent of Police (SP). But as the alleged incident took place in Shimla, the complaint has been referred to the Shimla SP.
Shimla SP Abhishek Dullar confirmed receiving the report from Hamirpur but said no formal FIR has been registered yet. "The case is two years' old and facts have to be verified before filing an FIR and we have asked the victim to come to Shimla in a day or two to assist the investigations," Dullar said.
