New Delhi: Born as  Chandra Mohan Jain, the eldest of 11 children of a cloth merchant in Kuchwada in Raisen district of MP, Osho  was known by many names like Acharaya Rajneesh, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and most popularly as Osho till his death. Having an open view point about sexuality, Osho was soon recognized as a `sex guru'.

His teachings, which were based on sex as the only way to nirvana, gained him popularity but at the same time invited criticisms. He taught his followers to have free sex to attain spiritual enlightenment.

People, mostly from western countries and disturbed backgrounds, showed faith in Osho and he became one of the most popular spiritual gurus of 20s.
