Honduras: A funeral was held by Honduras for the Miss World contestant and her sister on Thursday after the sister's boyfriend Plutarco Ruiz shot them in a jealous rage.

The mourners held a dawn vigil for Miss Honduras, 19-year-old Maria Jose Alvarado, and her sister Sofia Trinidad Alvarado, 23, in front of the family's house in the northwestern town of Santa Barbara.

The bodies were examined by the forensic experts and were later handed to the mourners.

The bodies of the sisters were found buried along the banks of the Aguagual River, which has brought the Central American nation in shock. Just a week before Ruiz killed them they went missing that brought him under the scanner of police.
