New Delhi: Two cases of sexual assault on children have been reported from the national capital. . In one of the assault cases, the police have arrested a 50- year old man for sodomizing a 10-year old boy allegedly in the area of Jama Masjid whereas in the other case, a six- year- old girl was raped by a 60- year- old man in the outskirts of the city.   

The accused had called his neighbour's 10-year-old grandson to his place, who was playing outside his house. After this the child went missing following which his grandmother started looking for him.

She found the child's slippers outside the rickshaw-puller's house. Immediately she entered his house where she saw the accused forcing himself upon his grandson. She then raised alarm and lodged a complaint at the Jama Masjid police station.

The police arrested the man on Friday after a medical confirmation.

The central district police has arrested rickshaw-puller under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 and IPC section 377 (unnatural sex).

In the other assault case, a six-year-old girl was raped by a grocery store owner when she had gone to his shop to buy something. The child had gone back to the shop to return the poly bag as the owner asked to return it back to him. He then made her sit on his lap and lured her with some cookies.

When the girl didn't return, her brother went to the store and saw the incident. He informed her mother who later confronted the store owner, the girl's father said. The accused is absconding. A case has been registered in the Aman Vihar police station.
