Four of family found dead in MP

Panna (MP): A woman and her three minor children were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their residence in Old Panna village area here, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off that a foul smell was emanating from a house in Old Panna village area under Kotwali Police Station, a police team went there and broke open the door to find decomposed bodies of Savitri Bai (40) and her three children identified as Shilpa (17), Pushpendra (14) and Karan (10), Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) R D Prajapati said.

Prajapati said the bodies appeared to be three-four days old with insects inhabiting them.  FSL team and dog squad has been called to further probe the incident, he said.

Savitri Bai went to jail in connection with her husband's murder in Amaanganj in 1995 and after release from prison she had started living with a person identified as Prakash Bhat.

When Bhat started misbehaving with his daughter, Shilpa, she had filed a complaint with the police following which he was sent to jail.

Bhat disappeared after he was released from jail.  Police sent the bodies for post mortem and is further probing all angles of the incident.
