New Delhi: Extending its previous session's positive sentiment, the rupee jumped 19 paise to 65.81 against the dollar on Friday.
The domestic unit opened 8 paise higher against the greenback at 65.92 from Thursday's close of 66 per dollar.
The surge in rupee follows the slew of measures announced by new Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan.
The BSE-benchmark Sensex was trading almost flat with a downward bias from yesterday.
