In a devastating incident, a high-tension wire fell on a bus in Ghazipur district, resulting in the tragic loss of several lives. Preliminary reports suggested that the bus came in contact with a high-tension wire, igniting a devastating fire that engulfed the vehicle. The horrifying incident occurred in Mardah town of Ghazipur, where the bus was en route to Mahahar town before the fire erupted.

Details of the incident

The accident occurred as members of a marriage party from Mau were en route to Mahahar temple in the Mardah police station area. SHO Dharmendra Kumar Pandey revealed that the bus, carrying the wedding attendees, made contact with an overhead high-voltage wire, igniting a fire that engulfed the vehicle.

Officials at the scene

Relief and rescue operations are currently underway, with authorities mobilizing resources to assist the victims of the tragic incident. District Information Officer Rakesh Kumar confirmed the presence of the district magistrate and other senior officials at the accident site, coordinating efforts to manage the aftermath.

CM Adityanath extends support

Expressing condolences for the lives lost, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to social media to announce relief measures for the affected families. He pledged financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of each deceased individual and Rs 50,000 to those seriously injured in the accident. Additionally, he directed authorities to ensure free medical treatment for all injured persons.

"The loss of lives in an accident in Ghazipur district is extremely sad and heart wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved families. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured," Adityanath said.

In a solemn statement, Chief Minister Adityanath expressed his profound sadness over the tragedy and extended his sympathies to the bereaved families. He prayed for the souls of the departed to find peace and for the swift recovery of those injured in the accident, emphasizing the need for unity and support during this challenging time.
