The iconic Maruti Suzuki Gypsy has officially been discontinued after 33 years in production.
The company said its net profit for the third quarter of the current financial year stood at Rs 1,489.3 crore.
The new WagonR comes with a new 1.2 litre petrol engine option along with another choice of 1 litre powertrain. It also comes with an automatic gear shift variant.
Use of high tensile steel has improved the overall safety, rigidity and NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) performance in the new offering, the company said.
India's largest carmaker, however, did not specify which car models will become costlier post this price hike.
The company sold 1,30,066 units in December last year, Maruti Suzuki India said.
"Starting December 26, 2018, owners of the suspected vehicles will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki dealers for inspection and replacement of the faulty part free of cost."
During the period, the company sold 1,82,139 units of Dzire as compared with 1,53,303 units in the year-ago period.
The Indian auto industry will fully migrate to manufacturing only BS-VI compliant vehicles on a pan India basis from April 1, 2020.
At present, Maruti Suzuki sells a range of vehicles starting from entry-level Alto800 to the premium crossover S-Cross priced between Rs 2.53 lakh and Rs 11.45 lakh.
The company's sales of light commercial vehicles in the country however, rose 112.2 per cent to 2,128 units.
The model, which was launched in October 2015, posted a 20.4 per cent growth in sales in the April-October period this fiscal.
The model raced past five lakh sales mark in September 2010, 10 lakh sales mark in September 2013, 15 lakh mark in March 2016 and 20 lakh milestone in November this year.
The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is longer at 4395 mm, wider at 1735 mm, and taller at 1690 mm. The wheelbase remains unchanged at 2740 mm while the ground clearance has been reduced to 180 mm.
The seven-seater MPV will be launched in an all-new avatar on November 21, 2018, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said.
Net sales, however, rose marginally to Rs 21,551.9 crore for the quarter under review, as against Rs 21,438.1 crore a year earlier.
The complainant had alleged that the clutch of his Maruti Swift was malfunctioning from the beginning. The defect continued after every service and even after its replacement.
The Maruti Suzuki India sold around 10,000 units of the light commercial vehicle (LCV) in 2017-18.
