Faggan Singh Kulaste

Faggan Singh Kulaste is the current Minister of State (MoS) for Rural Development and Steel in the second Narendra Modi Cabinet. He was also Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare from 2016 to 2017 in the first Narendra Modi Cabinet. He has been representing the Mandla Lok Sabha constituency since 2014. He won six elections from Mandla in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2014 and 2019. He was defeated by Congress candidate Basori Singh Masram in 2009 with a margin of 65,053 votes. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Election, Kulaste won the Mandla seat by defeating Congress candidate Kamal Singh Maravi with a margin of 97,674 votes. Faggan Singh also served as Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs (1999) and Tribal Affairs (1999 to 2004) under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. Kulaste became a member of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly for the first time in 1990 from the Niwas constituency. In the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections, Kulaste contested from the Niwas Vidhan Sabha seat after a very long time against Congress candidate Chain Singh Warkade but lost the polls with a margin of 9,723 votes. Kulaste is again contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections from Mandla against Congress candidate Omkar Singh Markam.
