RR vs RCB, Live Cricket Score, Vivo IPL 2018, Match 53: Shreyas Gopal celebrates a dismissal

HIGHLIGHTS, IPL 2018 Match 53, RR vs RCB

A neat performance by Rajasthan to deliver the knockout punch to Bangalore! Chasing a target of 164 was always going to be a tricky task on this pitch and once Bangalore lost Kohli cheaply, it became trickier. However, Parthiv Patel and AB de Villiers stitched in a 55-run stand to keep the chase on track for the visiting team, the introduction of Shreyas Gopal changed things big time for the home team. With the pitch assisting the spinners, Gopal didn't take long to strike the right chord. His lines and lengths along with clever variations were too hot to handle for Bangalore. He hunted down Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali, Mandeep Singh and AB de Villiers in quick succession to make a complete mockery of the visiting side's middle order. Shreyas was ably assisted by Ish Sodhi, who also received ample support from the deck and created pressure from one end. The other bowlers were also very impressive and altogether it was a good show by Rajasthan, although they were a bit clumsy in the field. (SCORECARD)

RAJASTHAN ROYALS VS ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE HIGHLIGHTS FROM JAIPUR

19.29 IST: Rajasthan Royals (164/5) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (134-all out) by 30 runs in Jaipur. Gopal 4/16, de Villiers 53. Jaydev Unadkat to Mohammed Siraj, OUT! BANGALORE ARE KNOCKED OUT! Unadkat angles in a slower length ball around off, Siraj tries to heave it over mid-wicket but gets more height than distance. Samson from deep square leg and Gowtham from deep mid-wicket rush towards the chance. The former goes for the catch but it pops out from his hands at the last moment. However, the latter has it covered. He takes it on the rebound to put a full stop to Bangalore's campaign. RAJASTHAN WIN BY 30 RUNS! Amazing victory!

19.26 IST: FOUR! Unadkat angles in a length ball around off, Siraj reverse sweeps it past the short third man fielder for a boundary. RCB 134/9 in 19.1 overs.

19.22 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal is the last batsman for Bangalore, batting for the first time this season.

19.21 IST: OUT! Unadkat removes Southee for 14. Southee holes out! Unadkat delivers a slower one outside off, on a length outside off, Southee fetches it from there and tries to clear the cow corner field. Fails to get enough power behind the shot and Gowtham takes the catch safely. End is nigh for Bangalore. Royal Challengers Bangalore 128/9 in 18 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (164/5) in Jaipur.

19.17 IST: FOUR! Some runs for RCB! That's a lovely shot! A slower length ball around off, Southee picks it early, shuffles across a bit and heaves it through mid-wicket for a boundary.

19.15 IST: Southee DROPPED AND FOUR! Archer delivers a full toss as Southee gives the charge. He slaps right back and Archer fails to take the return catch. It goes through his hands, beats mid off and races away to the fence. RCB 121/8 in 17 overs.

19.09 IST: Mohammed Siraj walks in next.

19.08 IST: OUT! Laughlin removes Umesh Yadav for 0. Two in two and the Aussie takes a leap of joy. Disappointment written all over the face of Kohli who is sitting in the dugout. No cutters or slower ones by Laughlin, a tailender is there and Ben goes full throttle with his speed. Angles in a 134 kph delivery, right in the line of the stumps, Umesh swings and misses to find his stumps shattered. On a hat-trick, Laughlin. Royal Challengers Bangalore 108/8 in 15.2 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (164/5) in Jaipur.

19.07 IST: Umesh Yadav is the new batsman.

19.06 IST: OUT! Laughlin removes Sarfaraz Khan for 7. Klaasen is having a ball behind the stumps. He takes a stunning diving catch this time. Laughlin hurls an off cutter around off, a bit on the shorter side, Sarfaraz tries to be cheeky with his little dab but ends up getting a thick outside edge behind. Klaasen dives full length to his right to take a one-handed catch. Stunning. Rajasthan are all over Bangalore like a rash. Royal Challengers Bangalore 108/7 in 15.1 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (164/5) in Jaipur.

19.02 IST: FOUR! A very good shot! Unadkat bowls it on a good length and outside off, Khan stays back and clobbers it over the gap between extra cover and mid off.

19.00 IST: Jaydev Unadkat is back on.

18.52 IST: Tim Southee is the next batsman.

18.51 IST: OUT! Shreyas Gopal removes de Villiers for 53. Oh dear, if you are a Bangalore fan, this is the last sight you want to witness - AB de Villiers is walking off the park! Gopal, you beauty. Serves a googly which has not been picked by the South African. He gets forward with a big stride and tries to whip it across the line. But fails to put bat to ball and Klaasen is lightning quick to dislodge the bails. The Rajasthan players are running in celebration. They know the importance of this wicket. Bangalore staring down the barrel, they need a miracle to save their season. Royal Challengers Bangalore 98/6 in 12.4 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (164/5) in Jaipur.

18.48 IST: OUT! Ish Sodhi removes de Grandhomme for 2. OUT! What are they doing? Colin falls this time. He attempts to play a booming cover drive. But it's a strategically bowled leg spinner which curves away after landing and takes the outside half of the blade. Rahane, arguably the best slip fielder in India, is stationed there and the rest his history. Another one bites the dust and the Rajasthan spinners are ruling the roost. 69 needed off 48 balls. Royal Challengers Bangalore 96/5 in 12 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (164/5) in Jaipur.

18.45 IST: FIFTY! AB de Villiers hits his 28th IPL half-century. FOUR! Fifty for AB de Villiers, his 27th in the League! But he will know that his job is far from finish. Sodhi is on the shorter side around off, AB gets across and nails his pull through mid-wicket for a boundary. Royal Challengers Bangalore 93/4 in 11.2 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (164/5) in Jaipur.

18.43 IST: Colin de Grandhomme walks in next.

18.42 IST: OUT! Shreyas Gopal removes Mandeep for 3. Brain fade, have to say. You have AB de Villiers at the other end, what's the need to try anything fancy. Just rotate the strike and give the master opportunity to do the rest. But no, Mandeep probably wanted to end this game with one shot. He steps out to a leg spinning delivery, it lands outside off and keeps leaving him as he attempts to loft it over covers. Misses the ball completely and Klaasen this time has a simple stumping to do. Bangalore in a bit of bother now. Royal Challengers Bangalore 85/4 in 10.3 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (164/5) in Jaipur.

18.36 IST: Mandeep Singh is the new batsman.

18.35 IST: OUT! Shreyas Gopal removes Moeen Ali for 1. Another over in this match which has accounted for two wickets. This has turned the momentum in Rajasthan's favour, although with AB de Villiers at the other end, they just cannot afford to relax. A flighted full ball around leg, probably a googly, Moeen draws forward, trying to work across the line maybe but ends up chipping a straightforward catch back to the bowler. Gowtham leaps to his left and catches the ball easily. A potentially game changing over. Royal Challengers Bangalore 77/3 in 9 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (164/5) in Jaipur.

18.32 IST: Shreyas Gopal to Parthiv Patel, OUT! Stumped! Good work by Klaasen there. A flatter delivery around off, skidding away and staying low as well. Patel gets back to cut but misses and loses his balance a bit in the process. The keeper does well to collect the ball and takes the bails off in a flash. He appeals and then starts to celebrate. Parthiv watches his back leg and then he starts to walk back. The replays roll in and they find that Patel's back leg is on the crease. Nothing behind it and Bangalore lose their second wicket.

18.28 IST: FOUR! Poor misfield in the deep by Archer! A short delivery by Ish Sodhi, as expected after the last boundary, de Villiers anticipates it, goes deep inside the crease and hammers his pull to deep mid-wicket. Archer in the deep does the hard work of getting to the ball but while picking it up, it slips from his hands and embraces the rope. Rajasthan cannot afford this!

18.27 IST: FOUR! Innovates and innovates nicely! Starts off with a tossed up ball outside off, de Villiers is aware of the field and reverse sweeps it through third man to pick up a boundary.

18.20 IST: FOUR! Too full and on off, Patel camps back to make room and drills it through the gap between mid off and extra cover for a boundary.

18.18 IST: Samson nearly takes a ripper... FOUR! A good length ball angling into the batsman, around off, Patel heaves it across the line and it flies in front of square leg. Samson in the deep charges a bit and then realizes that it's going over his head. Jumps to catch the ball with his right hand but fails to keep hold of it. The ball slips out and meets the fence.

18.14 IST: FOUR! Parthiv can breathe a sigh of relief. Was in the air but back to third man where no one is present. RCB 45/1 in 5 overs.

18.13 IST: FOUR! Pure class! Laughlin's delivery is touched by ABD's bat and straight down the ground. No one is catching that. RCB 40/1 in 4.3 overs.

18.10 IST: FOUR! Once again, de Villiers knows what to play when. This time on the leg side over the covers and races towards the fence. RCB 35/1 in 4 overs.

18.09 IST: FOUR! Through the gaps and de Villiers drives that on Archer's slow delivery. Leg cutter in line of the stumps, de Villiers reads it correctly. Backs away and times his punch through covers to perfection. RCB 31/1 in 3.5 overs.

18.08 IST: FOUR! Cut and that's how AB de Villiers makes his entry. Back of a length ball on middle and leg, de Villiers swipes it away through backward square leg to find the fence. RCB 27/1 in 3.2 overs.

18.02 IST: OUT! Gowtham removes the big fish, Virat Kohli for 4. Kohli was looking itchy at the crease and has eventually departed. Gowtham dishes out a genuine off spinner and delivers it from wide of the crease. It lands just outside off as Kohli comes dancing down the track. He swings his bat aimlessly and gets beaten by the inward spin. The ball goes through to rattle the stumps and Rajasthan taste an early success. A big wicket too. Gowtham is delighted! RCB 20/1 in 2.5 overs.

18.00 IST: SIX! Another one and the same exact way. Parthiv recreates the shot once again on Archer's short-pitched delivery. RCB 16/0 in 2 overs.

17.58 IST: SIX! Jofra Archer comes into the attack and Parthiv has greeted him with a maximum. A short-pitched ball was handled well by the opener. Archer bangs in a short ball around off, 144 kph, Patel leans back a bit and just uses the pace of the bowler. Finds the sweet spot of his bat and it flies over third man. Brendon McCullum tries catching it at the dugout but drops.  RCB 8/0 in 1.1 overs.

17.56 IST: Brilliant over by Gowtham. 2 off it and four dot balls. RCB 2/0 in 1 over.

17.55 IST: A late little cut attempted by Kohli but he gets it away off the bottom edge. It hits the keeper on the boot and rolls near him. Early nerves for Kohli!

17.54 IST: And we're back with the chase. Krishnappa Gowtham to bowl the first over, Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli come on to bat. Let's get started.

17.50 IST:

17.49 IST:

17.41 IST: Rajasthan Royals score 164/5 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Jaipur. Umesh 3/25, Tripathi 80*. Tim Southee to Krishnappa Gowtham, OUT! Full ball outside off, Gowtham tries to carve it away but fails. Takes off for the run. Patel is alert and throws it back to Southee who flicks the bails off at the non-striker's end to catch the batsman short. RAJASTHAN FINISH ON 164/5!

17.39 IST: SIX! This is what he can do! He has a lot of confidence in his abilities and delivers as well. In the arc for Gowtham outside off. He launches it over long off for back-to-back maximums.

17.38 IST: SIX! Boom! Short ball, sits up nicely for Gowtham. He pulls it with aplomb over cow corner and the ball sails into the stands.

17.37 IST: Krishnappa Gowtham comes out to bat.

17.36 IST: OUT! Siraj removes Klaasen for 32. Rajasthan Royals 149/4 in 19 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Jaipur.

17.32 IST SIX! Shot of the highest class from Klaasen, quips an excited Ian Bishop on air! Full delivery outside off, Klaasen carves it away over short third man to clear the ropes. RR 143/3 in 18.2 overs.

17.29 IST: Tim Southee to Rahul Tripathi, 1 run. Another off pace delivery, induces a false stroke from Tripathi towards long on. De Villiers charges in and picks up the ball. The opener wants the second run but a good throw from the South African forces him to go back to his crease. RR 136/3 in 18 overs.

17.18 IST: FOUR! This one is authoritative! Good length ball on off, Klaasen backs away and crunches it on the up through extra cover. The timing is good and picks up another boundary. RR 121/3 in 15.4 overs.

17.16 IST: FOUR! Just misses the stumps! Klaasen comes down the track forcing the bowler to drop it short. He tries to pull it across but gets a thick inside edge that just goes past the stumps and runs down to the fine leg ropes.

17.10 IST: Umesh Yadav to Heinrich Klaasen, Not Out! Yes, the inside edge comes to his rescue! Judicious use of the review.

17.09 IST: Yadav is on fire. He has trapped Klaasen in front of the wickets. Only an inside edge can save him.

17.06 IST: Heinrich Klaasen comes out to bat. Can he survive the hat-trick ball?

17.05 IST: OUT! Umesh Yadav removes Samson for 0. Gone first ball! Good field placement from Kohli and it has worked wonders. Full length ball attacking the stumps, Samson chips it but doesn't bother to keep it down. Ali is stationed in between mid on and mid-wicket and he takes a safe catch. Rajasthan Royals 101/3 in 13.2 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Jaipur.

17.04 IST: Sanju Samson is the new man in.

17.03 IST: OUT! Umesh Yadav removes Rahane for 33. No, the impact is adjacent! Might be a blessing in disguise for the hosts as they need their big hitters to come into play. Good length delivery outside off, angling in, Rahane tries to heave it across the line but is hit on the back pad. The visitors go up in unison and the umpire obliges. Rahane has a chat with Tripathi and decides to take the DRS. Rajasthan Royals 101/2 in 13.1 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Jaipur.

16.57 IST: SIX! Beautiful! Slower delivery on middle and leg, Tripathi skips down the track and hits it clean as a whistle. It is going, going and just goes over the ropes.

16.55 IST: FIFTY! Rahul Tripathi hits his 3rd IPL half-century. A vital knock it has been. Banged in hard, pulled away to deep square leg for a couple. Lifts his bat towards the crowd and sinks in all the applause. He needs to change gears now. Rajasthan Royals 86/1 in 11.5 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Jaipur.

16.50 IST: Mohammed Siraj to Rahul Tripathi, 1 run. On a driveable length outside off, pushed on the up through covers for a run. Good over for the visitors, only 6 runs from it. RR 80/1 in 11 overs.

16.40 IST: FOUR! Played to perfection! Fullish delivery outside off, Tripathi with a high backlift strokes it over extra cover. Brilliant execution. Even de Villiers in the deep can't do anything about it.

16.35 IST: Mohammed Siraj to Rahul Tripathi, 1 run. Just short! Good length delivery outside off, Tripathi drives it on the up and it goes on one bounce to the point fielder. Mandeep there does well eventually to stop the ball. He then has a shy at the striker's end as the batsmen cross. Misses and one more added to Rajasthan's total. RR 54/1 in 8 overs.

16.24 IST: FOUR! Two in two! Short delivery, slower in pace, allows Rahul to line it up. He rocks back and nails the pull through wide mid on to pick up another boundary.

16.22 IST: FOUR! Smart play from Tripathi! He is showing that he belongs at the top of the order. Quicker through the air in line of the stumps, Tripathi comes down the track and goes inside out over extra cover. Picked his gap to perfection.

16.20 IST: FOUR! Timing at its best! Fuller in length, straying on the pads, Rahane times his clip sweetly. Sends the ball racing across the turf to find the square leg fence.

16.16 IST: FOUR! Third boundary of the over! The hosts needed this. On a length on off, Tripathi picks up the length very quickly and pulls it over wide mid on for a boundary. 13 runs from it.

16.14 IST: FOUR! Shot! He is oozing with confidence at the moment. In the arc for Ajinkya, he leans ahead and lifts it nonchalantly over mid on to get the desired result.

16.12 IST: FOUR! Sublime! He is a great timer of the ball. Back of a length ball well outside off, Rahane stands tall and caresses it through cover-point to find the fence.

16.10 IST: SIX! That's an audacious shot! What confidence. Takes a big stride and picks it from outside off. Sweeps the slog ball with full authority over deep square leg for a biggie.

16.07 IST: The skipper, Ajinkya Rahane is the new man in.

16.06 IST: OUT! Umesh Yadav to Jofra Archer for 0. The ploy to send Archer has backfired, he has bagged a duck! Nothing great about the delivery, it is short and going down the leg side, Archer tries to take advantage of it. Goes for the pull but only manages to glove it behind. Patel accepts it gleefully. Yadav has been terrific in the Powerplay and has produced the goods once again, just the start the Men in Red wanted. Rajasthan Royals 2/1 in 1.4 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Jaipur.

16.03 IST: Just two runs from the first over. Yuzvendra Chahal to Rahul Tripathi, Loopy delivery, kept out watchfully. Good start for the visitors.

6.00 IST: We are set to get rolling. Surprise, surprise! Rahul Tripathi has a new opening partner in Jofra Archer. He has probably been sent to make use of the Powerplay as Rahane stated that it is important to begin well. Yuzvendra Chahal to begin the proceedings with the ball.
