Movie: Umrao Jaan

The story is about a little girl 'Amiran' (played by Rekha), who gets abducted and sold of at a brothel to be a courtesans.
Unaware of the atrocities the women have to face once they get there, Amiran makes friends with everyone around and accepting it as her fate starts to live there and becomes a poet.
In the end she is left alone, as her brothel gets deserted after Britishers attack the city.
