Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has dubbed YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao as "pet dogs" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Shameless Jagan Mohan [Reddy] is eating dog biscuits; he is distributing them to us also. Jagan Mohan Reddy and K Chandrasekhar Rao are pet dogs for [Prime Minister] Modi; they will be at his feet for a single biscuit. Jagan is going to share those biscuits with you too. Beware!" Naidu said at a rally in Machilipatnam region of the Krishna district.
Naidu also accused the BJP and the TRS of funding YSRCP's political campaigns and said they would not be able to win votes in the state despite spending crores.
"[PM] Modi and KCR have spent Rs 1,000 crore (referring to being given to Jagan for spending in elections). KCR, why did you send that money? Why did you send your state money to us? Even if you send 10,000 crores you won't get even a single vote here. Our people are so angry with you", said Naidu.
It is not the first time the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president has made a controversial remark.
Naidu had earlier called PM Modi a "dreaded terrorist" who is murdering democracy and ruining institutions. He also reacted angrily after Prime Minister Modi accused him of corruption in the construction of Polavaram.
Naidu's remark comes at a time when the electoral battle is at its peak in the state. Andhra Pradesh will witness simultaneous polling on April 11 for both Lok Sabha and assembly polls.
