7 Two-Wheelers to Look Forward at Auto Expo 2016

7 two wheelers to look forward at auto expo 2016

Organized by SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) along with ACMA (Automotive component Manufacturers Association of India) and CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), Auto Expo 2016 is expected to be bigger, better and more exciting as compared to its previous editions.

To be held between February 5th to 9th, the media days are slated for 3rd and 4th of February. Almost every manufacturer will either showcase the concept of their future offerings or launch their highly awaited products.

So let's find out the most anticipated two-wheelers expected to be launched or showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.

Hero Passion iSmart:

Passion

Country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Motocorp is all set to adopt smart way for its popular model Passion Pro, and bringing a new variant called ‘Passion iSmart'.

The motorcycle will feature i3s technology, which is currently being used in Splendor iSmart.

The bike has been spotted recently with many premium elements such as sporty split rear grab rail, re-styled fuel tank and side panels with all new taillamp.

This 110cc motorcycle is expected to produce 9bhp of power and 9Nm of torque. The Hero Passion iSmart will be priced somewhere close to Rs. 55000 (ex-showroom).

2. Hero HX250R:

Hero

First unveiled at Auto Expo 2014, Hero might showcase the production version of HX250R during the Auto Expo 2016.

This will be the company's only quarter litre motorcycle, which is likely to get 249cc single-cylinder engine and is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox.

Its quarter litre powertrain is tuned to produce 31bhp of power and 26Nm of torque.

Hero has developed this motorcycle with the help of Erik Buell Racing and if the company claims are to be believed, this upcoming motorcycle will take less than 8 seconds to reach 100kmph of speed.

3. TVS/BMW G310:

Two years back, TVS and BMW associated to bring sub 500cc motorcycles and now their first product G310 will be out for sale soon.

The production of the motorcycle has already been displayed earlier and is expected to make its Indian debut at the Auto Expo.

Developed by BMW Motorrad in Munich, this naked machine will be manufactured in India at TVS's Bengaluru plant. This will get 313cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine.

4. Benelli Tornado 302:

Benelli

Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Benelli along with its partner DSK Motors is bringing its first fully faired motorcycle, the Tornado 302 at Auto Expo. The bike was first showcased at the 2015 EICMA.

This happens to be the company's first fully faired machine after Tornado 1130, which came out in 2003.

With the launch of Tornado 302, Benelli will compete against Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM RC390 and Ninja 300.

Powered by 300cc parallel twin engine with DOHC, the bike is expected to produce around 34.9bhp and 27Nm.

5. Honda Navi:

Recently, Honda teased an image on its website stating ‘Happy Navi Year' and ‘Here to change the way India plays with two-wheels'.

This means, the company is ready to unveil its new product at the Auto Expo.

If rumours are to be believed, this will be Honda's new 125cc scooter that is expected to be priced between Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 70,000.

It is expected to get the same 125cc engine of Activa 125 and will generate 8.6bhp and 10.12Nm.

6. Mahindra Gusto 125:

Few days back, Mahindra unveiled its 125cc scooter, the Gusto 125, which is expected to be launched at Auto Expo next month.

The scooter looks identical to its younger sibling, but will be offered with more powerful engine and few tweaks in designs.

The upcoming Mahindra scooter will retain rest of the features like height adjustable seat, follow me lamps, remote flip key and LED pilot lamps from the 110cc Gusto.

We expect that the scooter will be priced around Rs. 6000 to Rs. 7000 over its existing model.

7. Suzuki Gixxer 250:

Gixxer

Suzuki is all set to launch quarter liter version from its Gixxer family. The spy images of the motorcycle have already surfaced online.

This race-ready styling 250cc bike might get dual disc brakes at the front and could also feature an optional Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

The upcoming Gixxer will be powered by 250cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke mill, which is coupled with a 6-speed transmission.

The engine is expected to produce between 26-28bhp of power and 23-25Nm of torque. The design of the motorcycle is inspired from its elder sibling GSX-R 750.
