The flash floods that hit parts of Uttarakhand's Chamoli district two days ago was due to the collapse of a hanging glacier. A hanging glacier is a body of ice that breaks off abruptly at the edge of a precipice or steep slope.
Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat in an exclusive interview with IndiaTV talked abou the current rescue mission in Chamoli after glacier burst. During the interview CM Rawat slammed those making development the issue behind this tragedy and said that people making such comments should walk out of their AC rooms and see the reality.
