Rain ruined the fun of a final in the Asian Games as India were declared winners of the continental event by virtue of being a higher-seeded team as compared to Afghanistan. It was a gloomy day in Hangzhou as the bronze medal match was also reduced to a five-over clash.

IND vs AFG, Asian Games 2023 Highlights. The rain relented in Hangzhou as India were handed the Gold medal being the higher-ranked team as compared to Afghanistan. The second-string Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side came into the final after beating Bangladesh in the semi-final by 9 wickets. India's campaign began with a comfortable win against Nepal in the quarter-final by 23 runs after the latter threatened to chase down the 203-run target. But some good bowling the middle overs and at the death helped India defend a strong score. Bangladesh won the bronze medal match by chasing 65 runs in five overs against Pakistan.

    Arshdeep sends back dangerous Mohammad Shehzad

    Mohammad Shehzad hit a boundary straight against Arshdeep Singh but the bowler was ready with a surprise ball to get rid of the Afghan wicket-keeper batter. However, the replays showed that the ball touched the batter's arm on the way and not the bat as Shehzad was referring to while walking off. However, since there is no DRS, Shehzad had to take the long walk back.
