5 movies that had high hopes but failed at the box office

2016 has been a magnificent year for Bollywood. With some powerful stories and wonderful acting, many films turned into blockbusters. But still, there were some films that had high expectations but turned out to be a disappointment. Lets have a look at five of them that couldn’t generate heat at the box office despite having A-listers.

Fitoor- The film was the adaptation of ‘Great Expectations’ and featured Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor. Picturesque locations of Kashmir and the charm of two actors couldn’t save the film from getting doomed at the box office.

Baar Baar Dekho- The strong response that song ‘Kala Chashma’ received when it was released left people in anticipation about ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ starring Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra. But, the film turned out to be a big box office failure.

Fan- It’s hard to term superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s film a flop but the fate of ‘Fan’ was decided by the audience. Though, the actor was praised by the critics but film was not successful at the box office.

Mohenjo Daro- People expected too much entertainment from the jodi of actor Hrithik Roshan and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. But, the debacle of the flick showed that the audience is now getting selective with their choices.

Rock on 2- After the success of ‘Rock on’, the second part of the sequel ‘Rock on 2’ was released. Along with Farhan Akhtar, the film featured actress Shraddha Kapoor. The collection of the film was severely affected by demonetisation.
