Jaipur: Nearly 170 passengers of Air India A-I 890 flight from Guwahati to Delhi on Sunday evening escaped death when the plane, after being diverted to Jaipur, crashlanded in fog with one of its wings broken and one of the tyres burst.
The Airbus A-320 plane had run short of fuel, after circling over Delhi and was diverted to Jaipur airport, which itself was enveloped in fog.
The plane landed with a terrible thud, shook violently and oxygen masks dropped over the passengers' seats, as its right wing was badly damaged.
