Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday became emotional while addressing the ISRO scientists after the Chandrayaan-3 success and saluted them stating that India has reached the place where nobody else could and named the spot where the lander landed on the Moon as 'Shivashakti'.

He said that India is spreading the light out to the world from the "dark zone".

"I want to salute you. We have our national pride played on the Moon. We reached where nobody could. We did what nobody did earlier. This is today’s India. This is the India which thinks new and which goes into the dark zone and spreads the light into the world. This India will provide solution to the world’s problems," he said.

PM Modi recalled the moment of landing on Moon when PM Modi connected online from South Africa where he was for the BRICS Summit.

"Every moment of August 23 is roving over my head. When the touchdown was confirmed, who can forget the scenes of people rejoicing. That moment became immortal and became one of the moments of inspiration. Every Indian felt that it was his own victory. Wishes are pouring even today. You all have made all this possible," he said.

"The scientists of our country have made this possible. I saw that picture in which our lander stepped its foot on the Moon. Our Pragyaan is leaving its footprint on the Moon. The spot where Chandrayaan-3’s moon lander landed, that point will be known as ‘Shivshakti'. The point where Chandrayaan-2 is touching will be called 'Tiranga Point'," he said.

Make in India

PM Modi said that Make in India has been expanded to the Moon.

"You have expanded 'Make in India' to Moon. I want to tell the countrymen about your labour. The path from southern India to the southern pole of Moon was not easy. Artificial moon was created and Vikram lander was made to land in various ways. It was sure to be a success. You have left a huge impact on the youth of India with your success which will become the foundation of a developed India. India will celebrate August 23 as National Space Day," he said.
